The training and accessibility audit helped trustees and volunteers identify barriers for visitors and volunteers, leading to a stronger focus on inclusion across signage, interpretation, navigation, and volunteer support. The findings have been embedded into the museum’s future planning, with improvements planned including hearing loops, enhanced accessible facilities, better signage, accessible parking, and upgraded infrastructure. Overall, the programme has helped the museum better understand visitor needs and make practical, meaningful changes to create a more welcoming and accessible experience for all.
