
Wolverhampton Arts and Culture is looking for three freelance roles.
The Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund is supporting Wolverhampton Art Gallery to commission artists and creative practitioners to work with community organisations to co-design Wolverhampton's Cultural Strategy. The pilot phase will consult with community groups across the city to co-curate two of the permanent Collection galleries to better reflect the diversity of population, create a stronger sense of place and encourage cultural participation. The pilot phase will lead to larger projects in 2025.
Budget: £24,000 including expenses, 96 days between August - December 2024
The Community Curator will lead co-curation activity, developing collaborative and community led engagement programmes and interpretation inspired by our collections. The role will engage community groups to successfully research the collection and select a group of works to be included for display.
Budget: £6,400 including expenses, 32 days between August - December 2024
The Collections Assistant will support the development of collaborative and community led engagement sessions inspired by our collection. This role will enable access to the collection during the consultation phase of the project, working with community groups.
Community Engagement Project Coordinator
Budget: £22,000 including expenses, 88 days between July - December 2024
The Coordinator will be responsible for the community engagement programme surrounding the 2024 major events in the city. They will deliver a variety of exciting events and activities in Wolverhampton Arts and Culture venues and community venues across Wolverhampton. They will be responsible for recruiting a team of freelance artists and performers and coordinating the marketing and relationship building with family, adult and formal education audiences and partners.
