MDM Grants Programme: Bid-writing Surgeries

Unsure what makes a good funding application? Need a sounding board for your project idea? Want to build your bid-writing confidence and skills?

To support you in making a strong application to Round Two of the MDM Open Grants Programme, MDM have commissioned cultural engagement consultant, Jenni Waugh, to provide a limited number of free, one to one bid-writing surgeries.

During the surgeries, Jenni will look over your first draft and then provide tailored feedback and coaching to ensure you write a strong bid that meets the funding criteria and develop a project that will genuinely benefit your business plan. Although no success is guaranteed, Jenni aims to help you learn bid planning and writing techniques that can be scaled up for applying to larger funding programmes.

Jenni is an independent heritage consultant with over 25 years experience of working in the sector. She began her professional career as an archivist in the South East before moving back to the West Midlands to work for the BBC and MLA West Midlands. Since 2010, she has run her own consultancy, working as a successful fundraiser, trainer, evaluator and project manager for museums, arts, heritage and community organisations throughout the region.
