MDM is offering a small cohort of six museums the opportunity of a programme of support to develop and embed sense of place approaches to community engagement.
Expressions of Interest Open
Our Sense of Place programme explores how museums can form a crucial part of a place’s identity and wellbeing, and how creative practice can support audiences to enhance their sense of wellbeing by focusing on the community they are part of.
The programme is centred around the theme of place and place making and it will support museums to identify place-based approaches to community engagement.
Museum Development Midlands (MDM) commenced the programme in 2024/25 with a programme launch at Aurora Wellbeing in Worksop and two online sessions.
You can now apply for the second part, which will be delivered by Culture Leicestershire and partners from April 2025 to April 2026. It will involve an intensive support programme for up to 6 museums in the Midlands and includes five training workshops.
